Job summary

West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG) is seeking ambitious HR Business Partners to shape a new business partnering function. You will work with leaders to translate strategy into practical people initiatives, drive capability, and embed a progressive culture across the organisation.

You will partner across People & Culture, influence decisions and help leaders build strong teams in a complex healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in a HR Business Partner, HR Advisory or similar people-focused role.
• Strong relationship-building, influencing and communication skills.
• The confidence to challenge constructively, provide sound advice and support leaders through complex people matters.
• A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational realities.
• An interest in workforce strategy, organisational culture, leadership capability and continuous improvement.
• The flexibility and curiosity to help build new ways of working in an evolving environment.

Responsibilities

• Build genuine partnerships with leaders, understanding their services, challenges and priorities and providing practical, commercially minded people advice.
• Turn strategy into action, aligning people initiatives with operational needs and organisational priorities.
• Coach and empower leaders to build capability, manage performance, navigate complex people matters and lead with confidence.
• Shape our culture, supporting an engaging, inclusive and values-led workplace where people feel connected, supported and able to do their best work.
• Use data and insights to identify workforce trends, inform decisions and develop proactive solutions to people challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement, helping design and embed consistent, effective and contemporary business partnering practices.
• Collaborate across People & Culture, connecting leaders with the right expertise across workforce planning, employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, wellbeing and organisational development.
