Multiple Opportunities | West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG)

Permanent Full Time Roles | Part Time considered

_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Be part of something from the beginning. Help shape the future of People & Culture.

What if you could do more than fill a HR Business Partner role? What if you could help build a business partnering function that genuinely changes the way an organisation supports its people, develops its leaders and delivers on its strategy?

At West Gippsland Healthcare Group (WGHG), we’re creating that opportunity — and we’re looking for passionate, forward-thinking HR Business Partners to help us bring it to life.

We have multiple opportunities available for people who want to make a real difference, challenge the status quo and help shape something new.

This is more than a traditional HR role.

We’re investing in a stronger, more strategic People & Culture function, with business partnering at its heart. We want to move beyond reactive HR support and build genuine partnerships with our leaders — helping them make informed people decisions, build great teams, strengthen culture and create an environment where our people can thrive.

You’ll be joining us at the beginning of this journey, with the opportunity to help define what great business partnering looks like at WGHG. Your ideas, experience and approach will help shape the function, influence how we work and establish the foundations for long-term success.

What will you be doing?

Working closely with leaders across our organisation, you will:

  • Build genuine partnerships with leaders, understanding their services, challenges and priorities and providing practical, commercially minded people advice.
  • Turn strategy into action, aligning people initiatives with operational needs and organisational priorities.
  • Coach and empower leaders to build capability, manage performance, navigate complex people matters and lead with confidence.
  • Shape our culture, supporting an engaging, inclusive and values-led workplace where people feel connected, supported and able to do their best work.
  • Use data and insights to identify workforce trends, inform decisions and develop proactive solutions to people challenges.
  • Drive continuous improvement, helping design and embed consistent, effective and contemporary business partnering practices.
  • Collaborate across People & Culture, connecting leaders with the right expertise across workforce planning, employee relations, recruitment, learning and development, wellbeing and organisational development.

Most importantly, you’ll help us build a function that is trusted by leaders, connected to our services and focused on making a meaningful difference.

What are we looking for?

We’re looking for HR professionals who are ready to step into a genuine partnering role — people who enjoy building relationships, influencing outcomes and working alongside leaders to solve problems and achieve better results.

You will bring:

  • Experience in a HR Business Partner, HR Advisory or similar people-focused role.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing and communication skills.
  • The confidence to challenge constructively, provide sound advice and support leaders through complex people matters.
  • A practical, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational realities.
  • An interest in workforce strategy, organisational culture, leadership capability and continuous improvement.
  • The flexibility and curiosity to help build new ways of working in an evolving environment.

You don’t need to have all the answers. What matters is your willingness to contribute, collaborate, think differently and help us build something we can be proud of.

Why WGHG?

At WGHG, our people make a difference every day to the health and wellbeing of our community. Supporting them to thrive is central to the care and services we provide.

Our Values in Action guide how we work:

  • We are leaders for today and tomorrow.
  • We put people first.
  • We are better when we connect.
  • We improve every day.

This is your opportunity to put those values into practice while helping shape the future of our People & Culture function.

You’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Be part of establishing a business partnering model from the ground up.
  • Influence how HR partners with leaders and supports our workforce into the future.
  • Work with a diverse range of services and leaders across a complex healthcare environment.
  • Contribute your ideas, see them translated into action and help shape a function as it evolves.
  • Join a team committed to continuous improvement, meaningful relationships and making a positive difference.

Ready to help us build something great?

If you’re energised by the opportunity to shape a new way of working, build trusted partnerships and make a genuine impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Multiple positions are available, offering an exciting opportunity to join us at the start of this journey and help define what great HR business partnering looks like at WGHG.

Come and help us build a People & Culture function that makes a difference — for our leaders, our people and our community.
