Job summary

Bellequip, a Rockhampton-based family business, is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the HR function from our Gracemere office. You will drive strategies, policies and workforce plans aligned with project needs and company operations.

Lead recruitment, onboarding, and staff development, while partnering with directors and operations to forecast staffing for new projects and changes in operations. Ensure compliant, engaged, and high-performing teams.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations, Business or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of HR experience, with strong generalist exposure.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law (Fair Work Act, Modern Awards).
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information professionally.
• Experience in construction/building/engineering industry desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and regularly review HR strategies, policies and workforce plans.
• Manage recruitment, onboarding and induction processes.
• Coordinate workforce planning for current and future projects.
• Identify training needs and coordinate professional development initiatives.
• Oversee performance review and management processes.
• Handle employee relations, negotiations, and workplace concerns.
• Support employee engagement, culture, wellbeing and retention.
• Maintain accurate HR records and generate workforce reports.
