Job summary

Nillumbik Shire Council is seeking a Manager Human Resources (Internal Applicants Only) to provide strategic leadership and expert people and culture advice across the organisation. You will guide workforce initiatives, build capability, and drive contemporary people practices to support the community.

A typical day includes leading strategic HR projects, advising on industrial relations and organisational development, and partnering with senior leaders to deliver transformative outcomes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Human Resources or equivalent with post graduate management qualifications.
• Extensive experience and knowledge of contemporary practice in human resources management, organisational development and change management.
• Demonstrated success as a change agent leading organisational reform and continuous improvement.
• Proven ability to lead an empowered multidisciplinary team delivering quality services.
• Ability to work effectively with Councillors, the public, employees and external organisations to achieve Council objectives.
• Understanding of Local Government objectives and issues.

Responsibilities

• Lead key strategic HR projects identified in the HR business plan.
• Provide strategic organisational-wide change effectiveness and management.
• Advise on industrial and employee relations, organisational development and health and wellbeing.
• Oversee delivery of plans, strategies and policies for council services.
• Partner with senior leaders to solve complex problems and measure outcomes.
