Job summary

NSW Health is seeking a Health Manager Level 4 to lead the devolved state-wide budgeting and financial management. This temporary full-time position develops the state-wide budget, provides guidance on SMRS reports, and supports policy alignment with Treasury reporting standards across NSW Health.

The role requires strong analytical skills, stakeholder engagement and knowledge of public sector financial governance.

Qualifications

• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and explain financial information clearly to a range of audiences.
• Knowledge of public sector financial management and accounting requirements, including financial reporting, governance and compliance frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Develop the devolved state-wide budget and provides support and advice on state-wide SMRS reports, processes and policies to streamline reporting and planning to ensure compliance across NSW Health with accounting requirements and standards and consistency with Treasury's reporting systems.
• Advise on budget, forecasting and financial management processes to support decision-making and performance monitoring.
• Provide guidance and training to local budgets and finance teams to ensure uniform application of policies and standards.
