Job summary

Hume City Council is seeking a Senior Growth Area Planner to drive the strategic planning and sustainable growth for the municipality. The role develops land use policies, PSPs, and development contributions while advising on major projects to benefit the community.

Responsibilities include preparing structure plans for residential/employment areas, administering contributions, and coordinating planning strategies with government agencies.

Qualifications

• Understanding of Victorian growth area planning systems and development contributions.
• Knowledge of planning legislation and Planning and Environment Act 1987.
• Strong analytical skills and research methods for strategic planning.
• Ability to provide strategic perspective on development proposals.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing new structure plans and development plans for residential and employment areas.
• Support administration of development contributions, forecasting and tracking.
• Coordinate review and development of planning strategies, guidelines and policies.
• Prepare amendments to the Hume Planning Scheme and manage related admin tasks.
• Represent Council on inter-municipal and inter-governmental planning forums.
