Job summary

Stride Mental Health is seeking an Executive Director Governance, Strategy & Risk to join the Executive Leadership Team. Reporting to the CEO, the role combines strategy with execution across governance, risk, quality and performance, plus evidence, business development and communications.

Responsibilities include maturing frameworks, strengthening reporting to the Board, building insights capability, and guiding strategic growth while engaging with commissioners, government and partners.

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification in governance, law, business, health, risk, strategy, public administration or related discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification in governance, business, strategy, risk or related discipline and/or Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors or equivalent governance qualification (highly desirable).
• Significant senior executive or leadership experience in a complex, regulated organisation with enterprise governance, strategy, risk, assurance or related functions.
• Strong understanding of governance, Board reporting, enterprise risk and assurance frameworks, and translating strategy into measurable delivery.
• Strong analytical capability and ability to translate complex information into clear Executive and Board advice.
• Experience leading significant organisational change and influencing senior executives, Boards and stakeholders.
• Commitment to consumer-centred, safe and accountable service delivery.
• Desirable: experience in not-for-profit/government-funded service models and multi-jurisdictional delivery.

Responsibilities

• Lead implementation and performance monitoring of the Stride 2030 Strategic Plan, linking strategy to priorities and accountability.
• Mature governance, risk, quality, assurance, policy and compliance frameworks and strengthen reporting.
• Build evidence, evaluation and insights capability to inform decisions and demonstrate impact.
• Strengthen business development and strategic growth aligned to Stride’s strategy and purpose.
• Lead stakeholder engagement, advocacy and partnerships with commissioners, government and communities.
• Provide strategic leadership across marketing and communications to support objectives.
