Job summary

The City of Perth in Western Australia is seeking a Governance and Policy Coordinator to oversee the governance function and coordinate a team of governance professionals to support effective decision-making, legislative compliance and organisational assurance.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of governance and electoral requirements within local government.
• Experience supporting Council and Committee processes, agendas, minutes and decision docs.
• Experience with governance systems, policy development and document management.
• Strong written and interpersonal communications for professional governance advice.

Responsibilities

• Oversee governance frameworks, policies, procedures and registers for compliance and alignment with Council decisions.
• Coordinate Council and Committee processes, agendas, reports, briefing materials and minutes.
• Provide authoritative governance, probity, compliance and legislative advice to executives and senior stakeholders.
• Coordinate governance, electoral, audit and assurance activities and support the Governance team.
