Job summary

Talent International, partnering with the Australian Federal Police Association (AFPA), is seeking a General Manager based in Canberra to lead the association’s day-to-day operations and deliver strategic priorities across finance, governance, people and member services. Reporting to the CEO/President, you will manage a multidisciplinary team and translate strategy into measurable performance improvements.

Experience in member-based organisations is valuable and a policing background is not

Qualifications

Experience leading teams and improving operational performance.
Strong financial and business management skills.
Sound judgement in governance, risk and compliance.
Ability to build trusted relationships and advise senior leaders.
Commercial awareness and partnerships knowledge.
Willingness to understand policing environment.

Responsibilities

Manage operations across finance, business services, people and membership.
Oversee budgets, financial reporting and business planning.
Support governance, statutory reporting, risk and compliance requirements.
Lead and develop staff, setting clear expectations and supporting effective service delivery.
Improve processes and support initiatives to grow and retain membership.
Identify and evaluate commercial partnerships and additional revenue opportunities.
