Job summary

Charter Hall in Sydney is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant / Assistant Manager to take senior ownership of daily fund accounting operations across multiple clients in real estate, private equity and related funds. You will oversee NAV preparation, monthly reporting, and support audits.

The role requires CA/CPA or equivalent, 5+ years in fund operations, and strong IFRS/AAS knowledge. You will mentor junior staff, manage client relationships, and drive process improvements in a hybrid,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in fund operations, unit trust pricing, or fund accounting with demonstrated seniority and team leadership.
• Strong knowledge of domestic and international financial markets and instruments.
• Strong systems knowledge of HiPortfolio, Investone, or equivalent asset management and custody systems.
• Proven ability to manage complex client relationships, lead a team, and maintain a strong risk and control mindset.
• Excellent team collaboration skills and time management under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Take senior ownership of day-to-day Fund/SPV administration for Real Estate portfolios, including preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts and reporting, year-end financial statements, assisting with audits, coordinating tax compliance, and managing payment services for unit trusts and private companies.
• Calculate net asset values on complex Real Estate Funds and prepare NAV packs.
• Serve as the central point of contact for a portfolio of Australian client accounts.
• Provide coaching and guidance to junior staff and team in India where necessary.
• Manage relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and property managers; onboard new clients.
• Drive process improvements and participate in ad hoc projects as required.
