Job summary

Wellington Shire Council is seeking a self-motivated Fleet and Procurement Officer within the Finance unit in a permanent full-time capacity in Sale, Victoria. You will manage the council's fleet of about 95 vehicles while handling purchasing and tendering activities to keep costs down and services running smoothly.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent customer service, time management and data analysis skills, with strong Microsoft Office proficiency, and the ability to negotiate

Qualifications

• Experience in resource management, fleet management and purchasing.
• Proven ability to negotiate with staff, suppliers and tenderers to achieve desired outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to gather data, analyse and interpret report findings.
• A high level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
• Proven ability to work well in a team environment with a ‘can do’ attitude.

Responsibilities

• Management, maintenance and control of Council's fleet of approx. 95 vehicles.
• Purchasing and tendering activities to ensure cost-effective operations.
• Procurement-to-pay functions including training and projects as required.
