Job summary

JS Careers is partnering with a growing fintech to appoint an Enterprise Risk & Compliance Director in Sydney. The role sits at the intersection of risk, compliance, data and business performance, influencing how risk is managed as the business scales.

You’ll lead regulatory compliance and operational risk, assessing regulatory and commercial impacts and translating requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions, while partnering with senior stakeholders to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across regulatory compliance and operational risk.
• Experience within fintech, non-bank lending, banking or broader financial services.
• Strong quantitative, analytical or modelling skills, with the ability to interpret data and financial impacts.
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while remaining pragmatic and solutions-focused.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead regulatory compliance and operational risk across the business.
• Assess risk decisions through both a regulatory and commercial lens.
• Analyse the financial and P&L implications of key risk decisions.
• Partner closely with senior commercial stakeholders on key business decisions.
• Translate regulatory requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions.
• Continue to develop and embed risk and compliance frameworks as the business scales.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, controls and risk management through data and technology.
