JS Careers is partnering with a growing fintech to appoint an Enterprise Risk & Compliance Director in Sydney. The role sits at the intersection of risk, compliance, data and business performance, influencing how risk is managed as the business scales.

You’ll lead regulatory compliance and operational risk, assessing regulatory and commercial impacts and translating requirements into practical, commercially viable solutions, while partnering with senior stakeholders to drive decisions.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across regulatory compliance and operational risk.
• Experience within fintech, non-bank lending, banking or broader financial services.
• Strong quantitative, analytical or modelling skills, with the ability to interpret data and financial impacts.
• Ability to influence and challenge senior stakeholders while remaining pragmatic and solutions-focused.
• Hands-on approach with the ability to operate autonomously in a fast-moving environment.

Enterprise Risk & Compliance Director

About the opportunity

We are partnering with a growing fintech business operating across the Australian financial services market to appoint an Enterprise Risk & Compliance Director.

This is a highly commercial role sitting at the intersection of risk, compliance, data and business performance. You’ll work closely with the senior leadership team, with significant scope to influence how the business manages risk as it continues to grow.

The role is highly embedded within the business, with a focus on providing practical advice, challenging decisions and working alongside stakeholders to develop and implement solutions.

The role

A key focus of the role will be understanding the commercial and financial impact of risk and regulatory decisions.

You’ll assess emerging regulatory requirements and business risks, consider their potential impact on the P&L and broader business, and help develop practical recommendations and business cases for how the organisation should respond.

You’ll also:

You’ll ideally have:

• Strong experience across regulatory compliance and operational risk
• Experience within fintech, non-bank lending, banking or broader financial services
• Strong quantitative, analytical or modelling skills, with the ability to interpret data and financial impactsAn understanding of how risk and regulatory decisions can affect revenue, profitability and the broader P&L
