Job summary

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is recruiting for an Executive Level 1 Finance Manager in Canberra, ACT. You will report to the Director, ETD Customer and Financial Management and provide financial leadership to support informed decision-making across the Division.

Your duties include managing budgets, forecasting, reporting, and providing strategic financial guidance while engaging with internal stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Australian Citizenship is required for the role.
• Baseline security clearance must be held or obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Manage budgets, forecasting and financial performance for ETD cost centres, accounts and IT projects.
• Prepare and present accurate financial reports, analysis and insights to support decision-making.
• Provide strategic and operational advice on current and forecast financial position, performance and risks.
• Monitor contractor expenditure, funding sources and budget utilisation.
• Oversee month-end processes, reconciliations and reporting requirements.
• Build productive relationships with internal stakeholders and provide financial guidance for budget management.
