Job summary

DFP Recruitment, partnering with a Federal Government agency, seeks an experienced Finance Analyst (APS6 equivalent) to contribute to financial analysis, investment oversight and governance. Canberra-based role with engagement options including Labour Hire or non-ongoing arrangements.

The successful candidate will analyze financial data, prepare briefs for senior decision-makers, and deliver timely, evidence-based financial advice while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience undertaking financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting or investment assessment activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial information.
• Experience preparing briefs, reports and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Experience working within a government, regulatory or large corporate environment will be highly regarded.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse financial data, investment proposals, funding requests and financial plans.
• Prepare briefing papers, reports, executive correspondence and delegate approval documentation.
• Monitor financial performance and provide timely reporting and analysis to support decision-making.
• Contribute to risk assessments, value-for-money analysis and assurance activities.
• Develop dashboards, visual materials and reporting products for senior stakeholders.
• Support governance, audit and review processes through the preparation of financial information and documentation.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to gather information, provide advice and coordinate deliverables.
• Assist with financial administration, reporting cycles and other ad hoc finance activities as required.
