Job summary

The University of Sydney is seeking an experienced Executive Officer to support the Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Indigenous Strategy and Services. You will provide high-level governance, strategic and operational support to advance Indigenous outcomes and reconciliation across the University.

You will work with senior stakeholders, coordinate governance and reporting, prepare briefings and committee papers, and monitor delivery of strategic priorities within a large, complex

Qualifications

• Experience providing executive-level support and strategic advice to senior leaders.
• Extensive governance, policy development and project management experience.
• Experience with budget planning, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and contemporary Indigenous matters.
• Knowledge of governance structures in higher education/government sectors.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Executive Director and senior stakeholders across the University.
• Provide strategic planning support and policy guidance across the Indigenous Strategy and Services portfolio.
• Coordinate governance, compliance, risk management and reporting activities.
• Prepare executive briefings, discussion papers and committee papers for senior leadership forums.
• Monitor and report on the delivery of strategic priorities and projects.
• Build and maintain relationships with faculties and portfolios to support collaboration.
