Job summary

University of Sydney seeks a Student Experience Officer (Identified) to deliver frontline, client-focused support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. You will help shape Indigenous student experiences through advisory services, cultural programs and peer learning support.

In a collaborative university environment, you will assist with events, resources access and troubleshooting, while aligning with institutional commitments to diversity and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Hold relevant tertiary qualifications with subsequent experience or an equivalent combination of education/training.
• Demonstrate an understanding of the student experience and ability to build empathetic connections with students.
• Demonstrate good organisational skills and a commitment to high-quality support and training.

Responsibilities

• deliver high-quality, client-focused frontline, user education and student support services
• provide empathetic and culturally responsive advice and support to students, focusing on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student experiences
• provide guidance and support to Peer Learning Advisors to assist with delivery of consistent, high-quality student support and training
• support planning and delivering cultural programs, events and activities that foster student connection, belonging and engagement
• assist students with access to information resources, technology environments and equipment, including troubleshooting routine issues
• work collaboratively with colleagues and support peers to achieve team goals and deliver a positive student experience
