Job summary

InterWorks in Perth, WA is seeking a senior Solutions Architect to lead high-impact data strategy engagements. You’ll translate business problems into clear data roadmaps, guide governance and architecture decisions, and own client relationships from discovery through delivery.

You will shape the value story, drive multi-cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS) and oversee AI/GenAI initiatives while mentoring teams and delivering measurable business outcomes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data architecture, consulting or advisory roles.
• Proven ability to lead business value conversations translating objectives into data strategies.
• Ability to design architectures that solve business problems and explain trade-offs.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, comfortable with executives and teams.
• Solid foundation in SQL, data modelling and modern cloud data architectures.
• Hands-on experience on Azure and/or AWS infrastructure underpinning data platforms.
• Knowledge of AI/GenAI in enterprise context with clear value versus hype.
• Experience with data governance and enterprise data strategy including AI governance.
• Experience with data lakehouse and processing of semi-structured data.
• Understanding of pipelines and cost monitoring and business value framing.
• Confidence running workshops to gather requirements and build consensus.
• Adaptability in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead business value conversations with senior stakeholders translating opportunities into measurable outcomes.
• Own data solution design from start to finish, turning needs into pragmatic architectures and roadmaps.
• Act as trusted advisor and senior contact across engagements to grow accounts.
• Guide clients through balancing strategy, governance and delivery realities.
• Provide architectural direction across cloud data platforms and underlying infra and cost.
• Architect and advise on AI and GenAI solutions with governance and security considerations.
• Design scalable, secure cloud infrastructures and translate trade-offs for business teams.
• Mentor consultants and engineers, connecting work to business impact.
• Roll up sleeves to deliver work alongside analytics, IT, data and strategy teams.
