Job summary

The Chief Operating Officer (COO) at the Office of the Inspector-General of Intelligence and Security (OIGIS) leads the Enterprise Management Unit, delivering finance, human resources, security, information technology and information governance to support the agency’s statutory functions.

Based in Canberra with flexible and hybrid arrangements, the role offers an opportunity to shape corporate services, drive strategic outcomes and lead a high‑performing team in a growing agency.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in corporate services leadership including HR, finance and security.
• Experience leading organisational growth and complex change initiatives.
• Proven ability to build high‑performing teams.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationships at senior levels.
• Excellent communication and trusted-advisor capabilities.
• High integrity and accountability aligned with APS values.
• Relevant qualifications in business/public administration are highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Enterprise Management Unit.
• Oversee corporate functions including finance, HR, security, IT, information governance.
• Lead capability uplift and workforce growth initiatives.
• Drive enterprise-wide change programs including workforce and transformation.
• Build relationships with government, intelligence community and partners.
• Strengthen governance, risk management and compliance.
• Provide trusted advice to the Inspector‑General and Executive team.
