Job summary

Schneider Electric is seeking a Contract Manager in Australia to drive contract lifecycle management from tender through project execution and closeout. You will identify and mitigate contractual, commercial, financial and compliance risks while enabling successful delivery and margin performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Law or related field.
• Professional certification in Contract Management is a plus (e.g. WCC/IACCM).
• Significant experience in contract management within project-based, EPC, construction or infrastructure environments.
• Experience in variation and change management during project execution.
• Experience supporting complex, high-value contracts with data-center, defence, transportation, utility or software customers is preferred.
• Strong negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills; proven ability to influence stakeholders and collaborate across functions and geographies.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support customer contract reviews during tender and proposal phases, including terms, risk allocation and structure.
• Identify, assess and mitigate legal, commercial, financial and operational risks with SMEs.
• Support and participate in negotiations with customers, partners and key subcontractors.
• Ensure back‑to‑back terms with suppliers and subcontractors where applicable.
• Confirm final contract alignment with approved positions prior to execution.
• Hand over contracts to execution teams, highlighting obligations, risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate with internal functions on tax, bank guarantees, insurance, customs and financial mechanisms.
• Monitor contracts during project execution to ensure rights and obligations are met.
• Advise on contractual interpretation, compliance and risk/opportunity management.
• Prepare, submit and negotiate change orders, variations and claims.
• Draft and manage contractual correspondence and notices.
• Participate in project reviews and provide guidance on mitigation and dispute avoidance.
