Job summary

CGC Recruitment is seeking a Senior Procurement Manager for the construction sector in Western Australia. You will oversee procurement and commercial management across major projects, developing strategies and negotiating complex contracts to deliver on time and within budget.

The role requires experience with head contractors on major works, strong knowledge of construction procurement law, and a proven ability to drive cost savings and commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in senior procurement or commercial management in construction.
• Experience with head contractors on major projects.
• Proven ability to procure and negotiate high-value contracts.
• Knowledge of construction contracts, terms, risk, and procurement law.
• Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement packages and priorities.
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in Procurement, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Law.
• Construction Law degree or legal qualification highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end procurement of contracts, subcontractor packages and services.
• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with budgets and schedules.
• Manage tendering processes and evaluate submissions.
• Negotiate high-value construction contracts with favourable terms.
• Review contractual obligations with project managers and legal teams.
• Build relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with policies and legislation.
• Identify cost savings and procurement efficiencies.
• Provide strategic procurement advice to senior management.
