Job summary

Perigon Group is partnering with a respected not-for-profit body overseeing government capital grant funding for a large network of Queensland schools. The Capital Program Advisor role suits someone moving from site delivery to advisory governance with a strong background in quantity surveying, construction, or contract management.

You will assess grant applications, review documentation, manage contract administration and build stakeholder relationships to provide authoritative procurement

Qualifications

• A relevant tertiary qualification in quantity surveying, construction or contract management, or equivalent experience.
• Around 5 to 7 years in a QS, construction or contract administration environment.
• Strong analytical skills and advanced Excel capability.

Responsibilities

• Assess capital grant applications from schools and support the panel assessment and prioritisation process.
• Review tender, contractual and payment documentation once projects are approved, providing well founded recommendations.
• Manage contract administration, variations and risk across funded capital projects.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and provide authoritative advice on capital programs and procurement.

Perigon Group is partnering with a well respected not for profit schools network in Brisbane to find a Capital Program Advisor.

This is an office based role for a quantity surveyor or contract administrator who is ready to step off site and into a stable, purpose driven organisation. You will be the technical check on school capital projects, making sure costings, contracts and claims stack up before funding is released.

What you will do

• Review tenders, costings, scopes and drawings and make clear recommendations
• Assess payment claims and variations against contracts and funding agreements
• Identify financial and compliance risks early
• Write reports, briefing papers and contractual correspondence
• Support capital grant assessments as part of the team
• Build good relationships with school authorities, architects and consultants

What you bring

• Degree or diploma in quantity surveying, construction or contract management, or equivalent experience
• Around 3 to 5 years in QS, cost planning, contract administration or procurement
• Strong skills in reading drawings and testing pricing
• Working knowledge of contracts, variations and financial controls
• Advanced Excel
• Strong attention to detail and clear written communication
