Lightsource bp seeks a Category Procurement Manager, BESS (APAC) to drive procurement for Battery Energy Storage Systems across the APAC region. You will collaborate with category teams and project groups to optimize value, ensure on-time delivery and compliance in a dynamic renewable energy portfolio.

The role emphasizes strategy development, supplier relationships, and end-to-end procurement execution to support global projects with robust risk management and cost control.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in additional regional languages is desirable.
• Willingness and ability to travel within the APAC region (up to 10-20%).
• Familiarity with regional software tools such as MS Office for documentation and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Update APAC BESS category strategy including battery cells, PCS, EMS.
• Develop contracting strategies for APAC BESS market reflecting global supplier landscapes.
• Generate reports on category performance, market insights, and assist in budget development.
• Identify new suppliers and manage prequalification processes.
• Assess supply chain risks and develop contingency plans for resilience.
• Lead RFP processes and supplier selection based on value, price, and risk.
• Negotiate supply contracts for BESS systems and related equipment as needed.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure aligned contract development and risk allocation.
• Provide procurement and project status reports, tracking deliveries and expediting logistics.
