Job summary

Maitland City Council is seeking an experienced civil engineer to lead and coordinate stormwater drainage investigations, including site inspections, catchment analysis and computer-based modelling to inform infrastructure planning and asset management.

The role collaborates with Council's Civil Maintenance department, providing expert advice on stormwater and localised flooding, and requires the ability to interpret complex data and deliver practical engineering solutions.

Qualifications

In this role, you will lead and coordinate stormwater drainage investigations including site inspections, catchment analysis, computer based modelling, and technical assessments that inform Council's infrastructure planning and asset management decisions.

Key responsibilities

• You will work closely with Council's Civil Maintenance department providing expert advice on stormwater, drainage and localised flooding matters.

• You will have experience undertaking drainage and flooding analysis and catchment modelling, together with the ability to interpret complex technical information and provide practical engineering solutions.
• You will be a collaborative professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of providing expert technical advice whilst working effectively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
• The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and possess demonstrated experience in stormwater drainage management or a related engineering field.
