Maitland City Council is seeking an experienced Stormwater Infrastructure Engineer to provide specialist engineering expertise in the management of stormwater drainage infrastructure, and local catchment flooding across the Maitland Local Government Area.

Maitland City Council is seeking an experienced and motivated Stormwater Infrastructure Engineer to provide specialist engineering expertise in the management of stormwater drainage infrastructure, and local catchment flooding across the Maitland Local Government Area.
In this role, you will lead and coordinate stormwater drainage investigations including site inspections, catchment analysis, computer based modelling, and technical assessments that inform Council's infrastructure planning and asset management decisions. You will work closely with Council's Civil Maintenance department providing expert advice on stormwater, drainage and localised flooding matters. Your work outputs will contribute to risk management practices and also support the prioritisation and delivery of drainage improvement initiatives including capital works projects.
The ideal candidate will hold tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or a related discipline and possess demonstrated experience in stormwater drainage management or a related engineering field.
You will have experience undertaking drainage and flooding analysis and catchment modelling, together with the ability to interpret complex technical information and provide practical engineering solutions. Experience using stormwater and flood modelling software, as well as knowledge of floodplain management principles and relevant legislation, will be highly regarded.
You will be a collaborative professional with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, capable of providing expert technical advice whilst working effectively across multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes for the community.
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 35-hour week, with a base salary range of $116,437 - $129,245 per year + Motor Vehicle Allowance + allowances + 12% super.
