Job summary

Honeycombes Sales & Service in Townsville is seeking a Stores Person to join our Truck Centre team. This permanent, full-time role focuses on accurate stock handling, order picking, packing and receiving.

Reporting to the Parts Manager, you will maintain stock records, liaise with freight providers and use in-house software. Forklift operation and a Year 12 qualification are preferred for a smooth onboarding.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience in a similar role.
• Experience with in-house software programs.
• Strong administrative skills including recording and reporting.
• Australian work rights and a valid manual driver licence required.
• Ability to interpret and complete relevant documentation.
• Knowledge of motor vehicles and heavy machinery.
• Forklift licence is required.
• Year 12 (preferrable).

Responsibilities

• Pick, prepare and receipt stock with attention to detail and safety.
• Report stock shortages to the Parts Manager.
• Receipt, check, and verify incoming stock; notify relevant departments.
• Pick, package and dispatch customer and service orders; deliver when required.
• Maintain shelves for Sales, Service and Parts and for customers.
• Build relationships with freight providers and monitor freight costs.
• Ensure stock is clean, saleable and recorded during stock takes.
• Safely operate a forklift for loading/unloading.
• Participate in team meetings and training; follow safety standards.
• Uphold Honeycombes’ Mission, Vision, Values and policies.

Responsibilities:

As our Stores Person, you will be responsible for delivering outcomes to our customers, using your attention to detail and safe work practices to pick, prepare and receipt stock. Reporting to the Parts Manager, you will contribute to team success and expand your skills, and enjoy a variety of work, where no 2 days are the same!

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Maintain accurate stock reports to support business decisions.
• Collect parts from suppliers and freight companies.
• Report stock shortages to the Parts Manager.
• Receipt, check, and verify incoming stock; notify relevant departments promptly.
• Pick, package, and dispatch customer and service orders; deliver when required.
• Maintain retail and stock shelves for the Sales, Service and Parts Departments, and for our Customers.
• Build strong relationships with freight providers and monitor freight costs for recovery.
• Ensure stock is clean, saleable, and accurately recorded during stock take activities.
• Safely operate a forklift for loading/unloading trucks.
• Actively participate in team meetings and training; follow reasonable work requests.
