Job summary

Metcash is seeking a Permanent Assembly Store Worker based at our Distribution Centre in Cairns. With both 4-day and 5-day shift options, the role offers flexibility and long-term employment as you assemble orders and maintain warehouse operations.You will use RF scanners and warehouse systems, safely operate reach forklifts, receive deliveries, check stock, and stage orders for dispatch; High Risk Licence is advantageous.

Qualifications

• Experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, or logistics environment.
• Experience in picking, packing, receiving, and dispatch operations.
• Current Reach Forklift Licence and reach truck experience.
• High Risk Work Licence advantageous.
• Ability to load and unload trucks safely.
• Strong attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Accurately pick and pack orders to meet requirements.
• Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems.
• Safely operate reach forklifts to replenish stock.
• Receive inbound deliveries and check against documentation.
• Inspect incoming stock for quality and discrepancies.
• Load outbound vehicles per dispatch schedules.

In this Role

• Accurately pick and pack orders in line with customer requirements and productivity targets.
• Operate RF scanners and warehouse management systems to process orders and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Safely operate reach forklifts to replenish stock, move inventory, and store products within racking systems.
• Receive inbound deliveries, unload vehicles, and check goods against delivery documentation.
• Inspect incoming stock for quality and report any discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
• Load outbound vehicles in accordance with dispatch schedules and load restraint requirements.
• Prepare and stage orders for dispatch, ensuring all paperwork and labelling are completed accurately.

You’re Likely a Match If

• Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution centre, or logistics environment preferred.
• Experience in picking, packing, receiving, and dispatch operations.
• Current Reach Forklift Licence and demonstrated reach truck experience highly regarded.
• High Risk Work Licence advantageous.
• Ability to safely load and unload trucks and containers.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
