Job summary

Archon Solutions Canberra is seeking an experienced Senior Storage Administrator to support a government client within a complex enterprise ICT environment. The role focuses on Linux SOE, storage platforms, and infrastructure services.

This 12-month contract with extension options requires Australian residency and Baseline Clearance; hybrid work from Canberra, with immediate start in Oct 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development, implementation and ongoing maintenance of a Linux Standard Operating Environment (SOE) on a virtualised platform, including migration of systems from legacy technologies.
• Assist with the implementation and maintenance of monitoring solutions to manage and report on platform and service availability.
• Investigate and respond to incidents affecting datacentres, server hardware, operating systems and associated infrastructure services.
• Liaise with business stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors to minimise service impacts and achieve timely resolution of incidents and technical issues.
• Collaborate with Database, Networks, Software Development and other technical teams, providing specialist support to achieve shared business objectives and meet delivery deadlines.
• Support application and code deployments and releases across Non-Production and Production environments.
• Provide operational support for NetApp storage systems.
• Provide operational support for VMware and Nutanix Hyperconverged Infrastructure environments.
• Support and maintain Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities.
• Provide operational support for Commvault backup and recovery systems, including offsite tertiary object storage.
• Contribute to infrastructure improvements, platform reliability and the ongoing modernisation of the environment.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior team members where required.
