Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Sterilisation Technician Level 2 to support Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals. This permanent full-time role involves high-quality reprocessing of reusable medical devices and ensuring patient safety through infection prevention standards.

You will work across two campuses, handling complex reprocessing tasks, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on continuous improvement and training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to work in a busy environment with tight timeframes.
• Ability to work effectively within a team, solve problems, and provide good customer service.
• Knowledge of ISO / Australian Standards and Infection Control Guidelines.
• Experience processing loan and minimally invasive instruments.
• Willingness to work rotating roster across locations.

Responsibilities

• Clean, disinfect, inspect, test, pack, sterilise and distribute reusable medical devices.
• Perform complex reprocessing duties, prioritising scheduled and urgent work.
• Respond to Operating Theatre requirements and meet urgent processing deadlines.
• Perform routine testing of sterilising plant and equipment and follow safe work practices.
• Work in accordance with relevant Australian Standards, NSW Health requirements, infection control guidelines and departmental procedures.
