Job summary

Southern NSW Local Health District is seeking a casual Sterilising Technician for the Bega site. The role focuses on preparing, sterilising, storing and disinfecting surgical instruments to prevent infection, supporting patient care and staff safety.

Applicants should have a Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (or be nearing completion) and be physically capable of long periods of standing, with the ability to lift and move loads.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Sterilisation Services completed or in progress.
• Ability to physically perform duties (standing for long periods, lifting, pushing, pulling).
• Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions from management and work under routine supervision.
• Teamwork and ability to relate well to others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, sterilise, store and thermally disinfect reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment.
• Work within a large team under routine supervision to maintain infection control standards.
