Job summary

Nexus Hospitals’ Bunbury Day Hospital is seeking a dedicated CSSD Technician (Casual) to ensure sterile instruments and equipment support high-quality surgical care for our community in Bunbury. You’ll work within a close-knit team, maintaining rigorous infection control and safety standards across the CSSD and perioperative areas.

Qualifications

• Solid experience as a Sterilisation Technician in a hospital environment.
• Cert III or Cert IV in Sterilising Services.
• Knowledge of sterilisation procedures and practices.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
• Sound working knowledge of AS 5369:2023 and Infection Control standards.
• Demonstrated ability to organise the sterilisation needs of the operating and procedure room requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for safe surgery: Ensure the CSSD, equipment and clinical environment are ready to support safe, efficient surgical care.
• Clean, sterilise, inspect and package surgical instruments.
• Ensure all sterilising standards and infection control measures are adhered to.
• Manage documentation.
• Ensure equipment and stock are available for Perioperative staff.
• Guide and support colleagues: fostering confidence, teamwork and safe practice.
• Champion improvement: Promote continuous improvement, safety and excellence across all areas of the hospital.

Bunbury Day Hospital is a boutique facility with the latest state of the art equipment, delivering quality care to local residents.

Our hospital offers a range of surgical services including endoscopy procedures, general surgery, ophthalmology, gastroenterology, hand surgery, dermatology, breast surgery and augmentations.

To Succeed In This Role, You Will Have

• Solid experience as a Sterilisation Technician in a hospital environment
• Cert III or Cert IV in Sterilising Services
• Knowledge of sterilisation procedures and practices
