Job summary

Nexus Hospitals Group, including Southbank Day Surgery in South Perth, is recruiting an Administration Manager to oversee hospital administration, drive quality and safety, and support efficient operations. You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team, manage resources, and maintain patient-centred care across the patient journey.

The role emphasizes collaboration, proactive risk management, and building strong relationships with clinicians, patients and staff in a fast-paced day-surgery setting.

Qualifications

  • Strong stakeholder management and team leadership experience.
  • Knowledge of health fund contracting and the Australian Private Health System.
  • Proficiency in Patient Administration Software (FYDO/ SimDay).
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office suite).
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality and safety improvement; embed continuous improvement and safe practice.
  • Support operational performance, rostering, procurement and administration.
  • Lead, mentor and educate the team.
  • Keep patient safety central with proactive risk management.

About our hospital:

Southbank Day Surgery in beautiful South Perth, is a busy and fast paced day surgery known for it's great clinical outcomes and patient service.

In our 6 Theatres and 3 procedure rooms, we specialise in Dental and Oral/ Maxillofacial, Dermatology/ Moh's, Plastics, IVF and Ophthalmology.

As an Administration Manager, you are the heartbeat of our team, bringing our mission of the best possible care to life. You’ll support the smooth running of our facility by driving clinical excellence and patient safety at every stage of their journey. Through close collaboration with our multidisciplinary team, you’ll ensure outcomes that are positive, reliable and centred on the person in front of you.

Administration Manager - Full-time position

With respect and collaboration, you will:

  • Drive quality and safety improvement: Support the GM/DON with quality and safety activities, helping embed continuous improvement, evidence-based and safe practice and excellence across the hospital.
  • Support operational performance and efficiency: Assist and oversee with the GM/ DON, financial management, resources, rostering, procurement, administration, quality and safety activities.
  • Lead, mentor and educate: Provide guidance, coaching and leadership to the team.
  • Keep patient safety central: Maintain clear communication with the team and respond proactively to risks, changes or concerns.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships: Develop positive working relationships with Visiting Medical Officers, patients, colleagues and other key stakeholders.
  • Champion patient-centred care: Help create a culture of excellence where patients receive consistent, compassionate care throughout their journey.
Who we’re looking for:

You are a compassionate and dedicated professional who pairs clinical excellence with a genuinely warm, patient‑first approach. You thrive in a collaborative, down‑to‑earth environment and take real pride in the high standard of care you provide.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Strong stakeholder management and team leadership experience
  • Knowledge of health fund contracting and the Australian Private Health System
  • Proficiency in Patient Administration Software (preferably FYDO/ SimDay)
  • Strong IT skills (MS Office suite)
  • Sound knowledge of medical terminology
  • Commercial acumen with strong problem‑solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with high attention to detail
  • Passion for providing exceptional customer service in a healthcare setting
