Job summary

Jabalbina Yalanji Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC is seeking a practical Team Leader to guide our frontline STEP Program team, delivering culturally safe youth support for young people on bail.

Reporting to the STEP Operations/Practice Manager, you will supervise Intake/Rapid Response and Youth Work staff, coordinate referrals and casework, and ensure accurate records while upholding community and cultural obligations.

Qualifications

• Experience leading frontline staff with a practical, supportive approach.
• Ability to assess risk and respond to safeguarding concerns.
• Experience in youth, family, community, justice or related case-management services.
• Strong communication, organisation, and record-keeping skills.
• Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership, supervision and guidance to Intake/Rapid Response and Youth Work staff.
• Coordinate referrals, workload planning, outreach and service coverage.
• Oversee assessments, support plans, case reviews and client records.
• Respond to complex situations and escalate safeguarding concerns as needed.
• Build relationships with families, youth justice, courts, police and partner services.
