Job summary

Southern Steel QLD in Mackay is seeking a dedicated Storeperson to join our Mackay branch. You will handle warehousing and distribution of steel products, using forklifts and cranes where required, and ensure accurate picking, packing, loading and unloading of materials.

The role requires a reliable team player with good communication and attention to detail, capable of working independently in a fast-paced, physical environment while adhering to safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Experience in warehouse operations or a similar role is highly valued.
• Forklift license preferred.
• Crane license or experience with overhead gantry cranes preferred but not essential.
• Physically capable of manual labor in a high-energy environment.
• Excellent communication skills and keen attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Safely handle and distribute steel products using forklifts and overhead cranes.
• Accurately pick, pack, unload, load, and stack materials.
• Operate machinery such as band saws when required.
• Perform general warehouse duties, maintaining a high standard of organization.
• Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all.
