Job summary

Cheltenham Secondary College is seeking a Learning Specialist to lead STEAM teaching across Years 7–10, fostering creativity, inquiry and practical problem solving. The role focuses on modelling excellence, co-planning, and coaching teachers to lift student achievement, engagement and wellbeing in a dynamic secondary setting.

You will develop and map STEAM units, connect with robotics, design and digital technologies, and build partnerships with primary schools.

Qualifications

• Must be registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
• Experience in STEAM curriculum development and assessment.
• Ability to coach teachers and lead professional learning.
• Knowledge of robotics and digital technologies in learning.
• Demonstrated ability to design and evaluate STEAM programs.

Responsibilities

• Model effective classroom practice and make students' thinking visible.
• Demonstrate explicit teaching of knowledge and practical skills.
• Support co-planning, demonstration lessons, feedback and reflection.
• Facilitate professional learning building teachers' confidence in STEAM.
• Map STEAM knowledge across Years 7–10 and connect with senior pathways.
• Develop assessments capturing knowledge, skills and reasoning.
• Assess development of ideas alongside completed projects.
