Job summary

City of Monash is seeking a Town/Urban Planner to join our Statutory Planning Team. This role offers progression within a large, collaborative environment and exposure to a variety of planning applications, including residential and commercial developments.

Strong communication and planning knowledge are essential. You will work within our City Planning Unit, contributing to statutory processes and customer-focused service, with opportunities for professional development and flexible working

Qualifications

• Understanding of statutory planning and related legislation.
• Analytical skills and ability to write reports clearly.
• Clear and concise communication is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work on a diverse range of planning applications including residential, Vic Smart, subdivision, commercial and industrial developments.
• Collaborate with a large team of statutory planners in a supportive environment.
• Engage with customers and provide clear information throughout the planning process.

The City Planning Unit is responsible for the delivery of statutory planning services within the City of Monash.

About the Position

If you are a town/urban planner looking for a start in your career or career progression, this is the opportunity to work within our Statutory Planning Team. This role provides an opportunity to work within a large team of experienced statutory planners in a friendly and supportive environment.

The role will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of planning applications including residential development, Vic Smart planning applications, subdivision, commercial and industrial developments. Experience of dealing with customers and clear and concise communication skills would be an advantage.

Skills and Experience

• Understanding of statutory planning, and related legislation


• Developed analytical skills and report writing

Requirements

• Relevant tertiary qualification in urban planning


• Satisfactory National Police Check; and


• Other pre-employment checks may be required depending on the role requirements.
