Job summary

Public Sector People, partnering with a Melbourne council, seeks an experienced Senior Statutory Planner to join their team on a temporary contract. You will manage complex applications and provide high‑quality planning advice across the municipality.

This role offers exposure to busy statutory processes, VCAT representation, and mentoring colleagues within a collaborative council environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Town Planning.
• 3+ years statutory planning experience.
• Victorian Local Government experience highly regarded.
• Strong knowledge of the Victorian planning framework and legislation.
• Experience managing complex planning applications.
• Current Victorian driver’s licence.

Responsibilities

• Assess and process complex planning and subdivision applications.
• Manage planning permits, amendments, extensions and Section 173 Agreements.
• Prepare clear and concise delegate and Council reports.
• Provide technical planning advice to internal and external stakeholders.
• Represent Council at VCAT where required.
• Support and mentor other members of the planning team.
• Work collaboratively across Council to achieve positive planning outcomes.

The Role

About You
