Job summary

BuildRight Construction AU is seeking an experienced mechanic to move into a specialised environment supporting fleet and GroundSupportEquipment (GSE) in a controlled aviation setting. You will inspect, diagnose and repair across light and heavy vehicles, emphasising reliability, safety and documentation on-site.

Applicants should have a relevant qualification (Light Vehicle or Heavy Diesel), 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience, HR licence, and readiness to obtain Police Clearance and

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Light Vehicle Mechanic or Heavy Diesel Mechanic.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Experience with light vehicles, heavy vehicles or heavy equipment.
• HR Driver Licence.
• Welding experience advantageous.
• GSE or aviation-related mechanical experience advantageous.
• Able to obtain Police Clearance and ASIC.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service and repair light vehicles, heavy vehicles and Ground Support Equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical, diesel and hydraulic faults using systematic troubleshooting.
• Carry out preventive maintenance to minimise equipment downtime.
• Attend breakdowns and complete effective on-site repairs.
• Identify mechanical issues and recommend repair solutions.
• Work safely within controlled operational and airside environments.
• Maintain accurate service records, job reports and maintenance documentation.
• Complete repairs in accordance with safety and quality standards.
• Collaborate with other mechanics and operational team members.
• Communicate professionally with clients and workplace personnel.
• Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a safe, organised condition.
• Apply practical knowledge and previous trade experience to specialised equipment.
