AUSAG RURAL near Roma is offering a full-time seasonal station hand position across a Wagyu cattle and dryland cropping operation. You will gain hands-on experience in mustering, branding, tagging, preg-testing and routine livestock handling, with day-to-day stock work largely on motorbikes.

Accommodation options are available for singles, couples or families. The role involves operating machinery, assisting with cropping tasks, grain storage, silage, and occasional travel to the Augathella

Our client is a highly regarded, family-owned Wagyu cattle and dryland cropping enterprise located just 20 minutes from Wallumbilla and 45 minutes from Roma, with additional country near Augathella. Running approximately 7,000 head, the business places a strong focus on quality Wagyu genetics, low-stress livestock handling and modern farming practices. The operation is exceptionally well set up, featuring quality cattle handling facilities, with day-to-day stock work primarily conducted using motorbikes. Mustering is occasionally supported by helicopter on the Augathella country, and while applicants are welcome to bring their own horses if preferred, the operation has a strong focus on motorbike use. Please note that working dogs are not permitted.

Reporting directly to station management, the successful candidate will become part of a close-knit team where everyone works together across both the cattle and cropping operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone wanting to build practical station experience, whether you're an experienced station hand or a motivated newcomer keen to learn. The role is available immediately through to the end of the year, with the opportunity to return next season for the right candidate. Located within easy reach of Roma, the region offers excellent sporting clubs, social activities, local services and a welcoming rural community, making it an enjoyable place to live and work.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:

• Assist with all aspects of the Wagyu cattle operation including mustering, branding, tagging, preg-testing and general livestock handling.
• Operate machinery within the dryland cropping program, including spray rigs, chaser bins and other equipment during planting and harvest.
• Support grain storage operations and assist with silage production and feeding activities.
• Travel to the company's Augathella property when required to assist with livestock operations.

Selection Criteria:

• Current driver's licence and own reliable vehicle.
• Previous livestock or station hand experience will be highly regarded, although training can be provided to motivated applicants.
• Ability to handle cattle using low-stress stock handling principles with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Positive attitude, good communication skills and a genuine passion for working in the agricultural industry.

• Various accommodation options available for singles, couples and families. Residents provide and prepare their own meals, with meat occasionally supplied.
• Negotiable remuneration package based on experience.
• Horses are welcome; strictly no dogs permitted.
• Full-time seasonal position available immediately through to the end of the year, with the potential to continue into next season for suitable candidates.
