AusAG Rural in Queensland is seeking a Feedlot Manager to lead day-to-day operations at a modern, multi-asset cattle enterprise near Roma. You will oversee a hands-on team, coordinate livestock movements, feeding programs, and site performance while upholding animal welfare and biosecurity standards.

  • Proven staff management and people leadership skills (absolute key requirement).
  • Previous feedlotting or intensive livestock management experience.

  • Experience with Livestock Junction or StockID systems (highly regarded).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of up to 7 staff, including pen riders, stock staff, and feed mill personnel.
  • Manage livestock movements, feeding programs, and pen management to ensure animal performance and welfare.
  • Oversee day-to-day feedlot operations including milling, commodities, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with feedlot standards, biosecurity, WHS, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Work closely with the Owners to deliver efficient, profitable operational outcomes and take ownership of site performance.

Our client is a progressive beef cattle enterprise operating multiple cattle stations and feedlots across Queensland. Located approximately 75 km south-west of Roma and 40 km south of Muckadilla, this modern feedlot backgrounds and finishes 6,500+ head of cattle. The business prides itself on producing high-quality beef, investing in people, and maintaining strong animal welfare and environmental standards.

Reporting to the Owners, the successful Feedlot Manager will be in charge of daily operations on site. This position would suit a strong people leader with cattle experience who is ready to step into a management role—even if they're not yet a fully established Feedlot Manager. The start date is flexible and can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Selection Criteria:

  • On-site 4-bedroom, 2-bathroom residence provided.
  • School bus access within 25 km of the property.
  • Opportunity for employment for the Manager's partner, depending on skills and experience.
  • Performance-based remuneration package, negotiable based on experience.
