Job summary

Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action is seeking a highly capable leader to drive statewide preparedness, readiness, and response across Forest Fire Management Victoria. You will oversee statewide preparedness programs, drive capability reviews, and lead improvement projects to translate lessons into action for enhanced emergency response across Victoria.

The role involves advising senior leaders on statewide preparedness and leading strategic initiatives to strengthen emergency

Qualifications

• High level understanding and experience in emergency management, preferably with knowledge of preparedness and response in Victoria.
• Experience leading programs and projects to manage capability.
• Current accreditation to fulfil a senior EM role or willingness to work towards such accreditation.
• Tertiary qualification in emergency management, public policy or related field would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead statewide preparedness initiatives across Forest Fire Management Victoria.
• Oversee capability reviews and implement improvement projects.
• Advise senior leaders and shape statewide readiness for future challenges.
• Support flexible and hybrid work arrangements while maintaining delivery.
