Job summary

Cricket Victoria is seeking a Media & Communications Specialist to tell the stories of Victorian cricket. You’ll work with our State Men’s and Women’s teams, shaping content and building media relationships to raise profiles and engage supporters.

You’ll lead media strategy, publish across social channels and the Cricket Victoria website, and coordinate stories highlighting players, pathways, and community programs. Flexible hours and sport experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience in communications, media or public relations, including securing positive earned media coverage.
• Strong writing skills with the ability to adapt stories for different audiences and platforms.
• Hands-on experience managing social media channels and creating engaging digital content.
• Strong relationship management and organisational skills across teams and priorities.
• Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends and match days.
• Experience with elite athletes or sporting organisations is highly regarded; familiarity with CRM, email marketing and websites.
• A tertiary qualification in Communications, Media, Digital, Sports Marketing or related discipline.
• Current Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.

Responsibilities

• Lead media and communications for our Victorian State teams, securing positive coverage and building relationships with journalists.
• Develop communications plans that showcase players, programs and priorities across Cricket Victoria.
• Build trusted relationships with players and coaches, supporting media engagements, training and appearances.
• Lead Victorian State Cricket and Cricket Victoria social channels and website, creating compelling content for supporters and partners.
• Deliver match-day social coverage across State competitions, with an agreed roster to manage workload.
• Monitor media coverage and digital performance, using insights to improve storytelling and manage emerging issues.
