Anglicare WA is seeking a StandBy Postvention Coordinator in Karratha to oversee suicide postvention support in the Pilbara region. The role delivers trauma-informed, culturally sensitive counselling and community education to those affected by suicide.
The position is part-time (0.8 FTE) ending 30 June 2027, with a flexible workplace within the Pilbara and a salary package including super and remote allowances.
The role of StandBy Postvention Coordinator oversees and coordinates the professional implementation and delivery of suicide postvention support within the Pilbara region of WA. You will deliver a high quality and responsive service to individuals, couples, families and groups who have been impacted by suicide. This involves delivering culturally appropriate, person centred and trauma informed interventions including initial support and brief counselling to people bereaved by suicide, assisting them in dealing with immediate needs presenting, and accessing other supports needed within the community. Liaison with the local community and building strong collaborative relationships with a range of key stakeholders to deliver a consistent, high-quality postvention service that is appropriately tailored to the needs, demographics, and cultural makeup of each community is also a big part of this role. You will be expected to develop and deliver community education in the areas of grief, loss and bereavement to build community capacity and overall raise awareness about suicide postvention. You also must possess a current National Police Clearance valid within one year; a WA Working with Children Check and a WA Drivers Licence.
