Job summary

Stairman in NSW is seeking a Carpenter/Joiner/Tradesman/3rd or 4th Year Apprentice to design and install bespoke timber staircases for residential builders. You will manufacture on-site and maintain craftsmanship, accuracy, and safety while receiving ongoing training and support.

The role involves reading shop drawings, using timber and joinery skills, and working in a team to deliver high-quality staircases close to home.

Qualifications

• Experience reading shop drawings and building timber staircases.
• Knowledge of Australian Standards for stair construction.
• High attention to detail and safety.
• Ability to work alone and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Interpret shop drawings, plans and specs.
• Operate woodworking machinery and hand tools safely.
• Measure, cut, assemble and finish staircase components.
• Work with solid timber.
• Collaborate with team to produce high-quality staircases.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Identify and resolve manufacturing issues.
