Job summary

CommBank is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for the Customer Channel, Data & AI domain. You will lead scalable software solutions across cloud, data and AI-enabled platforms, influencing architecture, engineering standards and technical direction.

The role spans customer channels, banker/CRM experiences, data-driven services and AI-enabled engagement platforms within Business Banking. You'll mentor engineers, collaborate with product and architecture stakeholders, and contribute to production

Qualifications

Proven experience designing and delivering complex software solutions in large-scale or distributed environments.
Strong hands-on engineering capability and a passion for solving challenging problems.
Experience building cloud-native applications, APIs, platforms or data-driven services.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
Experience influencing technical direction, architecture and standards.

Responsibilities

Lead the design and delivery of scalable, resilient software solutions across customer channel and data platforms.
Build and evolve applications, APIs, services and platform capabilities that support critical Business Banking experiences.
Contribute across backend, cloud platforms, customer experiences and data-enabled solutions.
Drive architectural decisions and influence engineering direction within squads.
Mentor engineers and uplift capability across teams.
Support platforms in production and drive continuous improvement through automation and monitoring.
