Job summary

Commonwealth Bank is seeking a Staff Software Engineer with a full stack background and a frontend focus on React/Next.js. You’ll influence architecture and engineering standards across cloud, data and AI-enabled platforms in Business Banking Technology, Sydney or Melbourne.

You’ll mentor engineers, shape scalable solutions, and work across customer channels, CRM, and data services while delivering impactful banking experiences for customers and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Proven experience designing and delivering complex software solutions at enterprise scale.
• Strong hands-on software engineering ability with a passion for solving challenging problems.
• Experience building cloud-native applications, APIs, platforms or data-driven services.
• The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery.
• Experience influencing technical direction, architecture and engineering standards.
• Mentoring engineers and uplifting capability across teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of scalable, resilient software solutions across customer channel and data platforms.
• Build and evolve applications, APIs, services and platform capabilities.
