Job summary

Canva is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to own the portable libraries across iOS, Android and web. You’ll build production-grade libraries in Rust and C++, partner with multiple teams, and contribute to the mobile platform’s technical direction.

This is a hands-on role at Canva’s Melbourne-based campus with a flexible hybrid work model. You’ll operate at the intersection of mobile systems and frontend integration, ensuring the libraries feel native across runtimes and scale to hundreds of

Qualifications

• Experience building production mobile software on iOS and Android.
• Shipped Rust, C++, or other system languages for portable libraries.
• Ability to design APIs that feel native to frontend engineers.
• Strong written design docs and cross-team communication.
