Job summary

Nuage Technology Group is seeking a Platform Engineer to join a major engineering program building a next-generation cloud platform in Sydney. The role is hybrid with 50% onsite work and offers a permanent position with a compensation around AUD 200K+ plus super.

You will design and implement high-performance services in C#/.NET Core, manage cloud infrastructure with Terraform, and drive architecture across AWS services.

Qualifications

• Solid AWS knowledge across compute, networking, IAM, data and security.
• Hands-on Terraform for infrastructure as code and reusable modules.

The opportunity

We're partnering with a leading Australian financial services organisation on a major engineering program: building a next-generation cloud platform from the ground up. It's a large-scale re-architecture that will underpin the organisations AI and digital ambitions for years to come.

What you'll do

• Build and evolve high-performance services and APIs in modern C# and .NET
• Design and deliver cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform, including reusable modules for other teams to adopt
• Architect and build solutions across AWS compute, networking and data services
• Take full ownership of what you build, from design through to production
• Ramp up quickly and contribute from day one
• Help shape the platform's architecture, engineering standards and performance
• Make AI tools a core part of how you analyse problems and write code

What you'll bring

• Extensive commercial experience with C# and .NET Core, including APIs and microservices
• Strong hands-on Terraform experience, ideally including building and versioning reusable modules
• Broad, practical AWS knowledge across networking, IAM, compute, data and security
• Experience designing and building CI/CD pipelines, not just using them
• A strong grounding in software design principles such as SOLID and Clean Architecture
• Solid experience with relational or document databases (e.g. Postgres, Aurora, SQL Server)
• A proven track record of taking complex systems from concept to production
• The ability to turn high-level requirements into well-designed, working solutions with minimal guidance

Nice to have

• Amazon Bedrock or production GenAI/agentic experience
• AWS data and streaming services (e.g. Athena, Glue, Kinesis)
• Scripting in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Observability tooling (e.g. Grafana, Prometheus)
• Database migration tools (e.g. Liquibase, Flyway)
