Job summary

Latitude is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to be the hands-on technical authority for data platforms, pipelines and operations. You will mentor teams, drive architecture, and own run-state and reliability of data solutions while collaborating with global engineers and security teams.

You will lead end-to-end delivery, enforce CI/CD and governance standards, and shape data platform modernization within Latitude's cloud strategy. Hybrid work model offered in Melbourne, Australia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or IT or related discipline.
• 7+ years in data engineering, including delivering complex data solutions.
• Strong hands-on with Snowflake and AWS; design of scalable data pipelines.
• Experience with dbt, Airflow, Kafka, Spark; programming in Python and SQL.
• Practice with CI/CD, testing, observability, DevSecOps for data platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance, lineage, quality, security and access control.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of data platforms, pipelines and data products.
• Translate architecture into practical, scalable, secure designs.
• Contribute to solution development, reviews and production support.
• Enforce CI/CD, tests, observability, and quality across delivery.
• Ensure secure data movement and interoperability across domains.
• Provide day-to-day technical direction and mentor engineers.
