Job summary

Altis Consulting is seeking a hands‑on Data Engineer who works closely with both technology and clients in Sydney. You will shape business problems into practical data solutions, design scalable platforms and lead project delivery across cloud ecosystems.

You will mentor consultants, build strong stakeholder relationships and help grow the Queensland capability while staying connected to core client engagements in NSW.

Qualifications

• Strong experience across data engineering, architecture or analytics consulting.
• Comfortable operating directly with clients.
• Experience with modern data engineering and data modelling.
• Experience with cloud data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, Azure or comparable).
• Databricks experience is essential.
• Proficient in SQL and data integration/ELT patterns.
• Knowledge of data quality and governance practices.

Responsibilities

• Design scalable data platforms, pipelines, integration and analytics solutions.
• Work across modern cloud technologies including Databricks, Snowflake and the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem.
• Translate complex business requirements into clear technical solutions.
• Guide and mentor consultants and contribute to a strong engineering culture.
• Build trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to create additional value for clients and contribute to proposals and solution shaping.
